Croquet Game with Pool Noodles!

Do you have some extra pool noodles laying around the house or just want a new activity for the kids? If you do, we found this awesome croquet style game using pool noodles!

What you need:

Pool noodles (cut them in the middle)

Yard stakes

Ball

All you need to do is take your noodles that you have cut in half, bend them into an arch, and hold them down with a yard stake! Your little ones will have a blast kicking the ball around and trying to make goals! Make it a game and invite the neighbor kids over to play too or just join in the fun with you little ones!

Cupcake Liner Ocean Themed Crafts!

Have some cupcake liners laying around the house? Use them up by showing your kids how to make some of these great crafts! With summer almost here, they are a lot of fun for the little ones who are getting use to going to the beach and swimming again! Check them out below!

Octopus

What you will need:

Cupcake liner (color of your choice)

Construction paper for the octopus legs, face, and blue background

Glue

Round cereal

2 googly eyes

White crayon

Glue the cupcake liner to the blue construction paper. Cut our legs for the octopus and glue them to the blue paper and glue the round cereal pieces to the legs. Glue on the googly eyes and mouth. Draw little white squiggle lines to look like waves on the blue paper!

Shark

What you will need:

2 gray cupcake liners (gray) and 1 (white)

Construction paper for the shark mouth and blue background

Glue

2 googly eyes

White crayon

Red marker

Cut a white and gray cupcake liner in half and glue them together onto the blue construction paper. Use the other gray cupcake liner to cut two triangles with a rounded bottom and one regular triangle for the top fin. Use colored construction paper to create a mouth and use a red marker to draw squiggles for the sharp teeth in the center. Glue on the googly eyes and draw white squiggles on the blu background to look like waves!

Fish

What you will need:

Cupcake liner (colors of your choice)

Construction paper for the fish tail

Glue

Googly eye

White crayon

These are the simplest ones to make! Just cut a triangle for the fish tail out of construction paper, glue it to the blue construction paper background, and then glue on the cupcake liner to cover a portion of the tail. Glue on a googly eye and use the white crayon to draw bubbles coming out of the fishys mouth!

Create an Obstacle Course

Create an obstacle course in your backyard with hula hoops, jump ropes, a hose, a sprinkler, or anything you can think of! Let your kids and neighborhood kids go through the obstacle course while you time them! A little friendly competition is always fun!

Neighborhood Game Night

Everyone remembers childhood memories playing games in their neighborhood like kick the can and ghost in the graveyard! They are a blast! Designate one day each week where you and your neighbors come together to play a game like kickball, softball, capture the flag, kick the can, and ghost in the graveyard! “You Light up my Life” Mother’s Day Card!

With Mother’s Day right around the corner I am sure your little ones would love to make something to give to Mom! If your kids don’t want you knowing what they are making you for Mother’s Day, you can always tell your significant other to come to our blog to see some great ideas! This card is simple and adorable and something all moms would love to receive!

Firefly “You Light up my Life” card

What you will need:

Blue printer paper (white would work fine too!)

Yellow paper

Yellow paint

Black sharpie

Ribbon

How to make:

First print the free printable mason jar by clicking here.

Have the kids cut out the mason jar and then cut an oval out of the yellow paper.

Have them write “Mom You light up my Life” on the yellow oval and glue it to the mason jar.

Have them dip their finger into yellow paint and put finger prints all over the mason jar.

After the paint dries, have them draw little lightning bugs on the yellow finger prints so the bugs look like they are glowing.

Add a cute little bow to the top of the mason jar and you are done!

Tissue Paper Flower Activity!

Get in the Summer spirit by trying out this fun tissue paper flower activity with your little ones! It’s easy to make, cheap, and will keep your little ones entertained for a little while this weekend!

What you will need:

Glue stick or bottled glue

Tissue paper squares (or cut up little squares of different colors)

How to make:

1. Download the free printable flower and print it out.

2. Have your little ones add glue to the circles.

3. Scrunch up tissue paper and stick it onto the glue.

This craft is great for an easy, affordable, and fun way to pass the time for your little ones! Another fun idea is instead of tissue paper, you can try glitter or pom-poms on the glue spots! Either way you choose to decorate the flower it will look great on the fridge or in a frame for Mothers Day!

Paint Your Flower Pots!

The spring fever is officially here and we can’t wait to get out into the garden! Put some creativity into your landscaping and garden this year by painting your very own flower pots! The best part is, your kids can help you do this! It is easy and will definitely make your lawn pop this summer!

What you will need:

Ceramic flower pot (any size you prefer)

Acrylic paint (glitter acrylic paint would be fun too!)

Cardboard for underneath flower pot while painting

First, take the acrylic paint and apply it to the bottom of the flower pot in circles. Continue applying your selected paint colors until it begins to flow down the side.

Next, continue adding paint to the bottom of the flower pot to ensure the paint flows all the way to the top of the flower pot.

Finally, after your flower pot has dried you are able to plant flowers in it and display your creative flower pot! Not only will your kids love it but your neighbors are definitely going to be asking you where they can buy such an awesome flower pot for their house!

To make this just simply use up your old cardboard boxes and turn them into walls, doors, windows, and anything else you can think of! Get creative and draw a brick pattern on them even to resemble an actual building! Then cardboard is perfect for a small fort or a short maze for your little ones to crawl around in!
